The freezer arrived 7 days ago and has performed beautifully. Purchasing an appliance of this type without inspecting it is a source of apprehension, but this unit performs to specification and fully met my needs. The unit arrived earlier than anticipated via FedEx. Both the unit and the packaging were intact. I will note that the front panel was not attached to the freezer cabinet and that the panel appears to lack a means of attachment (clips, screws, etc.). Four drops of superglue, hot glue, or epoxy would have been a permanent fix, but I elected to use Blu Tack in case I needed to remove the panel in the future (see images). I installed the unit in my basement where the ambient temperature is 71 deg F. The unit quickly cooled to the default temperature of 0 deg F. whereupon I set the temperature to -40 deg F. It took a little over an hour to reach this temperature (see thermometer in images). I purchased the unit to freeze low temperature (-10 deg F.) gel packs which it handles with no problems. The unit is not quite as loud as a standard refrigerator, but the compressor sound has a higher pitch. Because of the low set temperature and the fact that the freezer is nearly empty, the compressor runs about 75-80% of the time. If it were set to 0 deg. F. and were full, I would expect a much-reduced duty cycle. All in all, I am pleased with the purchase and would buy again. I plan to post an update once I have an idea concerning durability, but I have no reason to expect any issue.October 22, 2022: Freezer is performing like a champ. On “Freeze” mode, it will achieve -50 deg C. (-58 deg F.). I use it for freezing specialty phase change material packs, and it works beautifully. Unit has met all expectations. JS
